Hello! Welcome to my website and an update for 2012.
You will find a special section about psoma yoga and psoma yoga therapy which is a return for me to the foundations of all that I am about.
Remembering Wholeness, the compilation of my small booklets into three volumes, is still available at a special discount price and these three volumes are also available to download as e-books, with the accompanying cd’s available as MP3 file through www.reflectivepresence.com.
The book that Marlena Field and I co-authored: Simply Being – a reflective practice guide for helping professionals, continues to be well received all around the world. It is a practical guide to the art of taking care of yourself through “applied mindfulness” and is especially relevant for anyone in a helping role. See our website for more information about that. www.reflectivepresence.com
The book that I co-authored with Paul Brenner MD - Seeing Your Life Through New Eyes - introduces our original process using Triangles (We called it Family Triangles and I’m now calling it The Triangle Effect). This process continues to amaze me with its simplicity and power to reveal the roots of our stress, our limiting self-image, the underpinnings of our relationship issues, and why we have certain unsatisfied emotional needs. It points the way to an expanded view of self, relationship, and how to be creative in the ways we live our life. I look forward to more opportunities to teach and share the Triangles with the people I teach around the world. That book is available on www.amazon.ca.
I am doing less and less traveling to teach around the world and am staying home more. I have re-opened my practice in an office which I am sharing with Cameron Grant. We are located at the Body Mind Center 635 Victoria St. in Kamloops B.C. I work with clients and couples who are willing and eager to look at themselves using applied mindfulness to find out how they can become happier and more fulfilled. I also use Psoma Yoga therapy for issues related to stress, chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and general unhappiness.
My approach is informed by mindfulness and applied Buddhism, by my version of the Hakomi Method, by the Triangle Effect, and by the bodymind approach to applied mindfulness and yoga which I call Psoma Yoga.
Psoma Yoga combines the principles of the Hakomi and Feldenkrais methods with yoga postures and movements in order to facilitate greater body awareness, balance, self awareness, and body, mind, and spirit integration. This approach is being offered as an intensive training retreat at Hollyhock Retreat Center on Cortes Island BC for one week May 9-16, and again in November on the Hawaiian island of Molokai at Hui Ho'olana (www.huiho.org). I’ll also be offering psoma yoga as part of the annual Heart of Meditation retreat with Flint Sparks (www.flintsparks.org) on Molokai in Hawaii in June.
Other special events in 2012:
I will be doing a retreat called the Practice of Loving Presence September 19-23 at Hollyhock Retreat Center. For information about Hollyhock, please check their website at www.hollyhock.ca.
Our international Hakomi family (HEN) is having a special gathering this year in and around Buenos Aires Argentina in early November. Stay posted for more information about that!
Wishing you all the best for 2012. Thanks for looking in and please know that you are welcome at any time. I hope to add some new articles and pieces for your interest every month or so. Thank you!
